Nobody wants to find a tick on their body after being outdoors. If you do find one however, it’s important to know how to safely, and promptly, remove it. If you ever find a tick, DO NOT burn it with a match or cover it with petroleum jelly. The best way to remove a tick is to grasp it firmly with tweezers as close to the skin as possible, and pull it straight out. Make sure that the mouth parts of the tick are not are not still embedded in the skin, as it can lead to infection if not promptly removed. Tea tree oil has also been used on ticks to make them come out as well, but you want to make sure that the entire thing is out of your skin.
